A robbery took place at an office under Bidhannagar South Police Station on Thursday. CCTV footage reviewed during the investigation showed that a gang of five individuals was involved in the crime. According to police, this same gang had allegedly looted ₹12 lakh from a house in the Sonarpur area in March and was also linked to a theft at a house in Salt Lake in February.
Based on information gathered, Bidhannagar South Police conducted a raid in the Tangra area and arrested three persons. The arrested individuals have been identified as Jumrati Molla, Rahim Ali alias Lalchand, and Rinku Sheikh alias Chikna.
The accused were produced before the Bidhannagar Court today. Police stated that search operations are ongoing to locate the remaining two members of the gang. Further raids are being carried out in surrounding areas based on specific inputs.
